Meet Our Pets As We Work From Home During Coronavirus

As Los Angeles and San Francisco are on lockdown to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, we've moved as a company to working remotely.

We've embraced physical social distancing and quarantine life as part of our new reality, but that doesn't mean we aren't having fun and maximizing the opportunities to connect digitally!

Each day we have a daily "stand-up" call and found that some cute critters kept making their way into our video conferences. They aren't as funny as these memes, but we felt our Scoot pets were too cute to keep to ourselves!

Jedi  - James | CEO

Jedi is the most spoiled of all Scoot pets. He normally shadows CEO, James every day at the office so working from home is a new venture for him. James reports Jedi is taking this time seriously while also making time to "self-care". He's been introverting out and getting on the back of the couch to look out the window, occasionally moving to bark at the postman.

Ceasar - Kevin | Education Consultant, Permanent Team

When Ceasar isn't constantly shedding on Dad's couch and every other item of the house.....He loves the work from home life because it means constant cuddles and being able to follow Kevin around whenever he goes, plopping down either on his human's feet or face.  Kevin tries to keep Ceasar from video calls and the dog park: "Ceasar sleeps like an adult with no cares. Sprawled on his back and private parts exposed for the world to see as he is snoring/dreaming. Secondly, he likes to potty on the walls/fence inside the dog area at the dog park. Yea. My guy is a weirdo and I wouldn’t change a thing."

Bella - Alex | School Partnership Manager

Before Alex adopted Bella, she was surrendered by a family that had her as a "summer vacation" pet when they were in LA. Bella is happy to be in a loving and caring home now, so the days Mom is home from work to give her extra cuddles is just a bonus!

Bambi - Thania | VP, Marketing

The best part about Mom working from home is the opportunity to give kisses. Bambi is notorious for frantically jumping (hence the name Bambi) and licking humans, especially Thania. Bambi loves when her mom is home because it means someone else is around to keep her furry roommates Zippy and Burt in check so she can spend more time peacefully sunbathing in the backyard.

Momo - Michelle | Senior Education Consultant, Substitute Team

While Momo is a dog, the verdict is out on whether he is part cat! He likes to jump up to high places and sit and stare out the window watching birds. When Momo isn't bird-watching, he is enjoying the extra treats and extra snuggles from Mom! Michelle says he loves it when she's home because "he always has a lap to lay on and nap."

Benny & Sour Patch - Ambria | Education Consultant, Substitute Team

Benny and Sour Patch love their mom working from home because it means they spend the day on Ambria's lap and get to pull pranks on her ...like walking all over her keyboard while she types!

Not only are these cats cute, but they're also a little quirky. Benny loves licking plastic bags (including bread bags, cheese bags, ziplock bags, etc.) and Sour Patch enjoys being the little spoon, tucked in with her head on the pillow, and will sleep that way throughout the night/nap time!

Mochi & Mickey - Nicole | Senior Education Consultant, Substitute Team

Mochi loves the WFH life because it means Mom refills her food bowl, again. And again. And again! Mickey is more sophisticated than his sister and enjoys music and physical activity the most. He is especially happy that Nicole is available to play fetch all day long! This pup is only a year and half, meaning Nicole will be practicing plenty of multi-tasking to keep him entertained. But apparently he is a big Grimes fan, so you know what music she'll be blasting in the middle of the day!

Rocky & Bailey - Caity | Education Consultant, Substitute Team

These two are not practicing social distancing at all. Rocky and Bailey are inseparable and especially love the extra company when Mom is home! Caity working from home means this dynamic duo can beg for walks and cuddles an extra 8 hours a day!

Sasha & Raja - Eliana | Senior Education Consultant, Substitute Team

When Sasha isn't barking up a storm at unidentified noises outside the home, she's busy keeping Eliana entertained with her tricks. This tan pitbull can balance a treat on her nose, flip it in the air and catch it on cue! She couldn't be happier to perform this trick all day while her Mom works. Raja loves the WFH life because it means Mom accidentally feeds her breakfast twice! The brindle boxer has been called "so ugly, she's cute" by a stranger so she's happy to stay indoors avoiding any mean strangers on her walks!

Solo & Cowboy - Matt | Senior Education Consultant, Substitute Team

These two rescues are loving the extra attention now that Dad works from home! When they're not sleeping on his lap, they'll be begging Dad to play with them all day. But you won't hear them meow during video calls; Solo (with one eye) has always "chirped like a bird" and Cowboy adopted his ways. Now they both sound more like birds than cats!
