Job Description

Are you a collaborative educator with a strong understanding of child development? Do you display a passion for history and social studies? Are you looking for an opportunity that incorporates history curriculum with interdisciplinary project-based learning programs?

Our partner school is seeking an experienced History Teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. The position involves teaching sections of 5th - 6th grade history, including lesson planning and grading.

Candidates should enjoy collaborating with colleagues and engaging in the entire Middle School experience. Additionally, Middle School teachers serve as advisors to a small group of students and become involved with co‐curricular programs such as service learning or overnight student trips. Coaching and other opportunities are also available.

This co-educational day school of 350 students prides itself on its collegial and professional working atmosphere, engaged and respectful learners, and beautiful campus setting in Pacific Palisades. Over 90% of the graduates from the eighth grade matriculate to highly selective independent secondary schools. Class sizes range from 17-20 students. Students have access to a wide variety of technology, including individual iPads.

Compensation on will be determined by years of teaching experience and other relevant qualifications. Teachers' salaries are highly competitive, set to be on average in the top quartile of leading independent schools.
