MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH TEACHER

An independent, co-educational college preparatory day school consisting of two campuses located in Los Angeles, California with approximately 1,600 students enrolled in grades seven through twelve.

Middle School Mathematics Teacher (grades 7-9):  Their department teaches a rigorous curriculum, consisting of courses from Pre-Algebra through Precalculus, to students possessing a broad range of math aptitudes. They pride themselves on the care afforded to students at an individual level, for collaborating on curriculum, and for active participation in the greater school community. Candidates should have a passion for working with middle school students, for teaching, and for mathematics. Furthermore, candidates should have a strong work ethic, high standards for self and others, and excellent verbal/written communication skills,
  
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics or a similar field; MA or Ph.D. a plus
  • Ability to teach a wide range of courses
  • Strong communication skills and team-player attitude
  • Experience working with middle school students
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate concepts in a clear and concise manner to students and foster an innovative and creative learning environment
  • Ideal candidates will be excited by becoming part of a vibrant school community, broadly engaging with students and colleagues, and attending events outside their particular field of study.
