Scoot Education seeks resourceful, friendly, and passion-driven individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit for our TeachStart Recruitment Consultant role. Be part of an amazing culture with hardworking, fun, and passionate people.  

We're launching a new program called TeachStart, a training program to provide debt-free and salaried pathways for prospective teachers (even those without any prior experience) to become licensed educators. TeachStart provides a paid pathway into teaching full-time, providing graduates with either a substitute teaching certificate or a state teaching credential.  

When can you start?

Scoot has an opportunity available to start in July, 2021. Our LA HQ is based in Culver City. Our team works on a hybrid work schedule, with rostered days working from home when not required in the office.

The role: 
The core mission of a TeachStart Recruitment Consultant involves:
  • Managing the candidate hiring process.
  • Developing strong relationships with both prospective teachers and school partners.
  • Having a knack for sourcing future teachers.
  • Providing service that consistently exceeds expectations.
The TeachStart Recruitment Consultant must have strong comfort and adaptability in using technology, an understanding of the education sector, and phenomenal people skills to build an incredible group of candidates and school partners.

You'll work on:
  • Educator recruitment: Assess and vet candidates through online searches, reference/background checks, and interviews according to requirements and strict standards of quality
  • Recruitment sourcing: Identify and source prospective teachers that are suitable for the TeachStart program
  • Educator management: Foster professional relationships with educators to support the achievement of their career objectives
  • Program management: Help manage TeachStart program projects plans and tasks to support program growth
  • Relationship management: Provide personalized service and develop meaningful relationships with key team members at partner schools
  • New business: Develop new business for Scoot by building authentic school relationships
You should have:
  • College degree and 2+years in education, recruitment, sales, or customer service
  • Education market knowledge and experience
  • Exceptional IT and administrative skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ridiculous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated history of delivering outstanding customer outcomes
  • Growth mindset, grit, and the drive to succeed

You'll stand out if:
  • You have recruitment experience 
  • You have experience in the classroom (or if you come from a family of teachers!)
  • Can demonstrate a strong comfort level using technology
  • You are sharp, a quick learner - fluent in common sense with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
